Projects
Our return to Peru builds on substantial prior work with leading operators across the country’s underground mining sectors over the years — starting with the implementation of the Istec safety system and evolving, under different leadership, into Expectra International delivering mining and safety-related services.

We have delivered mining and safety-related services to, amongst others:
- Grupo Hochschild — Ares, Arcata and Pallancata (Peru), and San José (Argentina)

- Volcan — the Yauli unit (San Cristóbal, Andaychagua, Carahuacra, Ticlio), Paragsha (Cerro de Pasco), Chungar/Animón, Alpamarca, Río Pallanga, Rondoni and El Pilar

Fatal accident investigation
Expectra facilitators are regularly appointed by mining companies to lead fatal accident investigations, and have served on international investigation teams for major incidents, including multiple-fatality methane explosions abroad.
Typical safety and risk services delivered to clients
Risk assessments, consulting and audits. Of particular importance is the rapid risk-reduction strategy and the Fatality Prevention Systems that Expectra has developed specifically for the mining industry to prevent and eliminate fatalities and to manage and prevent catastrophic risk.
Training experience
Expectra has trained more than 50,000 people in the mining industry, locally and internationally (in-house and public courses), and has established itself as the leading provider of HIRAC (risk assessment) training in the mining industry. All of our trainers have a solid foundation of mining-industry experience, in both engineering and mining production.
